Bleepshow release frequency (05.12.2009)

After some feedback and comments from listeners, I’m changing the release schedule to 3x shows per week. Frankly, 7x shows at 60mb each is way too much for most people to handle downloading, let alone keep up with – and I have to admit to this being the most important factor in this decision.

I’m lucky enough to have a very fast broadband connection, so the shows are uploaded and downloaded with relative ease for me – I occasionally forget about the rest of you guys and girls with your own connection speed limits and time available to listen to music.

So, no big changes, same 1hr show, same mix of music, just a bit less often. I hope this is cool with you and you understand the reasons behind it.

Update: also, and perhaps more importantly, Bleepshow is on vacation until the end of June 2009 – my work-life workload has sky-rocketed in recent weeks and as I like the concept of keeping my house and food in the ‘fridge, I’m giving that my main attention.

Thanks for your understanding – the A to Z series and ‘normal’ shows will recommence on July 1st, 2009. I’m looking forward to it :)

Netlabel A to Z series (04.02.2009)

I have an idea brewing for a series of forthcoming shows. Some time ago I did an A to Z of artists from various netlabels, one show per letter. It seemed to be well-received, and from the feedback and download stats the change of tack was A Good Thing.

I’d like to do a variation on this, focussing this time on the labels rather than the artists: that is, have a show dedicated to a particular netlabel, rather than artists beginning with a given letter.

Now, I’d like you to suggest some of the labels you’d like covered. Leave me a comment below with your suggestions for labels to cover. I’m open to any electronic-y netlabel with Creative Commons licencing allowing me to play tracks. New, old, well-played or obscure – I’m open to all suggestions.

Think of one of more netlabels you’d like to see – as many or a few as you can muster. You might like, for example:
